Switching accountants: why it pays off and how it works

If your current accounting feels more like a burden than support, switching is simpler than you might think: we manage the transition. You sign the engagement contract, give notice on your previous engagement and give us access to your documents – we take care of the rest.

Signs it’s time to switch

Does any of this sound familiar?

The reason for switching is rarely one big mistake – more often it is a series of small, recurring frustrations. If several of the following are true, let’s talk.

What your company gains

Accounting that thinks ahead – instead of explaining after the fact

Switching really pays off when accounting becomes one of the key supports of your business. That is what our way of working is built on.

We speak up early

We proactively flag deadlines and legal and tax changes – and also when your company approaches a threshold such as the VAT exemption or the KATA limit.

Four-eyes principle

Every return and report is also checked by a senior accountant before it reaches you or the authority.

Numbers you can read

A transparent monthly close and clear reports for your decisions. If you need more, our controlling service helps with a KPI framework, budgets and cash-flow forecasting.

100% online if you wish

All our processes run online by default – no paperwork, travel or waiting. If you would rather meet in person, we are happy to see you in Budapest or Székesfehérvár.

Lawful tax optimisation

We look at which tax regime, allowance or legal form is the most favourable for your company – always within the law.

Transparent fees

Our monthly accounting packages start from HUF 15,000. The quote itemises what the monthly fee covers – and if the transition needs extra work, we tell you in advance.

An orderly start

At takeover we review the opening data and the ledgers. If we find discrepancies or unsettled items, we flag them before the ongoing bookkeeping starts.

Experience you can rely on

Our head of accounting has more than 30 years of professional experience and has been a certified accountant since 1992; our leaders bring experience from international companies.

How the transition works

Five steps – two of them are yours

We agree the schedule together when signing the contract. The transition runs alongside the ongoing bookkeeping, while your business keeps operating.

  1. 01
    Your part

    Request a quote

You fill in the quote form or call us. We get back to you within 24 hours on business days and set out, with no obligation, what we take on and at what fee.

  2. 02
    Your part

    Contract and access

You sign the engagement contract, give notice on your previous engagement and give us access to your documents. Together we set the transition date – aligned with the notice period of your previous contract.

  3. 03
    We handle this

    Authorisations and data transfer

We arrange the tax-authority authorisations and set up the digital transfer of documents from your invoicing software and bank.

  4. 04
    We handle this

    Handover

We collect the opening data and ledgers and coordinate directly with your previous accountant – you do not need to act as a go-between.

  5. 05
    We handle this

    Ongoing bookkeeping starts

Monthly close, returns filed on time, clear reports – and we speak up early when action is needed.

What we need from you

A short list – we request the rest

  • A signed engagement contract
  • Access to your documents (invoicing software, bank statements)
  • Termination of your previous engagement with the notice period set in that contract

From your previous accountant – whose contact details we ask for when the contract is signed – we typically request: the general-ledger trial balance and sub-ledgers, customer and supplier ledgers, the fixed-asset register, payroll data, the returns filed and the tax-account reconciliation. We tailor the exact list to how your company operates.

When to switch

No need to wait for the year end

  • There is no “mandatory” date for switching accountants – what matters is the notice period of your previous contract.
  • The simplest option is to start on the first day of a month or quarter: your previous accountant closes the completed periods, and we book the current one.
  • If you switch before the annual report is prepared, we agree in advance who prepares the report for the closed year.

FAQ on switching

What people ask before switching

How long does the transition take?

It mainly depends on how quickly and how completely we receive the opening data from your previous accountant. We agree the schedule together when signing the contract and keep you informed throughout.

Do we need to meet in person?

No. The whole transition can be handled online. If you would like to meet in person, we are happy to see you in Budapest or Székesfehérvár.

What about the contract with my previous accountant?

You terminate your previous engagement with the notice period set in that contract. We align the transition date with it and coordinate the handover with your previous accountant ourselves.

What if the handover gets stuck?

We coordinate the handover directly with your previous accountant. The accounting records belong to the company – if the handover stalls, we help you with the next steps.

How much does the transition cost?

The quote itemises what the monthly fee covers. If the transition needs extra work – for example tidying up earlier periods – we tell you in advance, before you sign.
